Our Story

It was a scorching hot day in August. Music was blaring as Fred Again.. was performing in the dance tent at All Points East Festival and the scare of the pandemic had subsided. The play button had been firmly pushed and people could indulge in the delights of being free again. But there was one problem...

With the temperature teasing the early 30s, everyone was dripping with sweat. So much so it felt like condensation droplets were falling onto us. I even remember seeing a guy take off his shirt and use it as a sweat rag to wipe the sweat off his brow. Knowing I had a trip to Ibiza coming up, as soon as I got home I was searching desperately for a 'rave towel' or 'compact sweat towel' that wasn't as dull as dishwater and I actually wanted to be seen carrying around.

Long story short, I couldn't find one.

That's when myself, and the now Co-founder had a chat. We'd been to many a gig in all sorts of climates and so knew exactly what would make the perfect towel for such an occasion. After scratching our heads, we decided we could most definitely create something durable, compact, quick-dry, odourless and most importantly, not an eyesore.

A year later we came up with the idea of Dansu. We concepted using AI and then used our own editing prowess to edit and amend the designs - making sure they were an ode to the dance music we'd both spent a large portion of our lives listening to. Once we received the samples, they were tested at the likes of Glastonbury, Lost Village and many more festivals, raves and even a Hyrox (a fitness event) to make sure they were fit for purpose.

The result of this led to the designs you see now, and while we had originally intended them to be 'for the dance', they are in fact amazing for any sweat-fuelled activity and we take them to anything from raves to park runs.
